One Day is a song that makes me feel wistful. And kind of sad. Let’s listen to it and feel bad about ourselves. But not too bad, because the music is upbeat enough to balance out the resignation and pain in the lyrics. So lovely.

I can’t stop listening to this track. It’s so relaxed and dreamy. Patrick Everman croons along softly and wistfully; it feels like someone is tracing a feather across my soul. Absolutely beautiful.
Also, you can download it for free HERE. Yay!
It’s that magical time when everyone starts reflecting on their favorite albums of the year! I’ve been doing it too, and Washed Out’s Within and Without is definitely in my top five. I don’t think I have a favorite track from it - it just blends together too well. But! “You and I” is one track that tends to jump out at me when I have the album on repeat, which is way too often. Probably everyone should listen to this and then acquire the whole album.

What? A new song from Air? Yes. Listen to it! It builds so steadily and wonderfully. It is an absolutely joyful experience. And hey! Beach House’s lovely Victoria Legrand is singing! How nice for everyone.

Chill and dreamy, but not too light. Sounds like early Stone Roses meets Band of Horses. Listen to it, then grab the whole album. Put that on while you study for finals - it’ll make your life much more enjoyable!

Everything about Friend Crush is wonderful: simple, straight-forward drums, catchy little synth hook, a little bit of desperation in the vocals. And really, the lyrics are excellent. Especially for people who are really awkward when it comes to making friends.
Also, I nominate the lyric “freezing fridays fleeing from me” for Best Alliteration 2011.

M83’s Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming is a fantastic album. Here is my favorite track from it!
Midnight City is a song that makes me want to buy an expensive car and then drive it off a cliff. And then it turns into a spaceship and all my friends are there and we go to the moon and party.
Here’s how good it is: I love the saxophone solo, and I hate saxophones as a rule. It’s that good.

Beautiful, clean, solid remix. Streets ahead of Jamie xx’s first rework of the track.
I keep zoning out when I listen to it - it makes for a very pleasant zoning out experience. Check it out!

Oh, look! A new track from Bowerbirds! How exciting. Moore’s vocals are warm and strong here. Tuck The Darkness In is solid; I hope the rest of their new album will be just as good!
